Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 405

Sunday, April 30, 2017

Hello my lovelies!
It is Sunday again, and that means it's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Frantic Stamper! Woot Woot!
Not only they have a huge collection of fabulous products, but they also carry other manufacturers, so you can get everything you need from them!

WOW! Look at this gorgeous color combo this week!
Spring is such a beautiful season, and this is so perfect!
Okay, here is my take...;-)

I know, I am such a rebel...{LOL}
I used the pretty spring colors to create this super fun card!

The owner of Frantic Stamper, Fran, so very generously provided each DT member with our choice of a die set! Thank you so much! It was very difficult to pick just one since she has SO MANY awesome dies!!! But I couldn't resist this fun "Super Kids" die set! You die cut each piece you see here, then you get to build your own superhero! Here's a girl with pink hair, isn't she just adorable!?

Here's my boy with his purple suit!
I die cut the kids' figures from white then colored with Spectrum Noir Markers, then dressed them with their super suits!

When you hear superheroes, you think of comic books, don't you?
And comic books has those tiny polka dots background (why is that exactly? I've never read them myself, but they sure look dramatic!) so that is what I used! Of course, I had to frame it like it is in a comic book! I just LOVE how this card turned out!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Don't forget to head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog, too!

Newton's Nook Designs

Hello lovelies, Happy Wednesday!
I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today!

Newton's Nook Designs In Slow Motion Set - Naki Rager

I LOVE the In Slow Motion set, such a cute, sweet set!
It had been a while since I last used this adorable set, so I wanted to give some loving ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs In Slow Motion Set - Naki Rager

This super chill, super cute sloth was my second try on "fuzzy coloring" :-D
I stamped him with Antique Linen Distressed Ink on watercolor paper and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Set. I used several shades of browns and grays to add his fur. I think he looks pretty fluffy, what do you think?

Newton's Nook Designs In Slow Motion Set - Naki Rager

"Have a sloth-some birthday", how stinkin' cute!
Sloths sure look relaxed, don't they? It made me think about sleep, then I wanted to pair this cutie with lots of stars! I get a bit crazy with sequins or/and confetti when I make shaker cards, but this one was ridiculous! {LOL}

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release Day 4

Thursday, April 13, 2017

Hello, my lovelies!
Welcome back to the final day of the Newton's Nook Designs April Release!
Today we are revealing this super adorable set "Newton's Birdbath" set along with the coordinating die set ;-) All the new goodies will be available for purchase tomorrow Friday the 14th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop! Woot Woot!

I think Jen has some sort of magic wand and all she has to do is to swing that wand and BAM! cutest little new stamp sets! {LOL}
I can't even deal with this cuteness, can you!?
Alright, here is my card...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birdbath Set - Naki Rager

Seriously, how did Jen even think to make a birdbath stamp!!? I just LOVE this sweet, sweet image!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birdbath Set - Naki Rager

As I have said this more than once before, deciding on how to color your kitty itself is one big task! It's an absolute pleasure, but a very important task ;-) You have to think about the whole design and other colors that you use on your card, too! Anyway, for this one, I stamped this adorable image with antique linen distressed ink on watercolor paper, colored in with SU reinkers and Zig Clean Color Real Brush set. I wanted to make this sweet kitty "fuzzy". There is this artist in Japan (click HERE to see his FB page) that I totally adored when I was growing up (and I still do!), he illustrates mainly cats, and I swear! He draws every single fur on them! And those fuzzy, fluffy kitties look so sweet :-) I obviously need so much more practice to achieve that look, but was pretty happy to have this little fuzz ball ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birdbath Set - Naki Rager

I added copper striped washi tape on the right side, adhered the little watercolored banner with the sentiment, which was heat embossed with Pool Party, and layered the copper wreath from the Happy Little Thoughts set. How did I come up with design? I think it was because the birdbath made me think of a beautiful garden, and somehow I was picturing this beautiful house with a grand front door, and there was a wreath on it.. I know, quite an imagination...{LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birdbath Set - Naki Rager

The background was water colored with the same color as the water in the birdbath, Bermuda Bay. It's a green-ish blue, but when water is added, you can see more blue and I just love this beautiful hue! I also added some yellow here and there, and that made a different green, this is exactly why I love watercolor! When the panel was dry, I die cut "smiles" from the Garden Window Purr-fect Die Set several times and left them all in the panel. They are all taped on the back. Running the panel through my big shot helped flatten it but since so much water was applied, it was still warped. My go-to solution to this is to saw it down! Stitching adds a texture anyway, so I love doing this!

Newton's Nook Designs April release Day 3

Wednesday, April 12, 2017

Hello there, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs April Release!
Today is day 3 and we are revealing this awesome, super versatile set "Simply Relative".
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 14th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!

We can always have another sentiment set, right !? ;-)
This one is fabulous, all your relatives in one set (just like your family gathering for holidays!! LOL).
Here is my card...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Simply Relative Set - Naki Rager

Well, isn't my mother-in-law one lucky lady!?
Another card for her!!? {LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Simply Relative Set - Naki Rager

As you may know, I like my light colors ;-) I don't use black for sentiments with my subtle colors often, but we are showcasing this fabulous sentiment set today so heat embossing them with this glittery black seemed juuuust right! I layered a couple patterned papers then covered them with vellum with the sentiment, this helps the sentiment to take the center stage ;-) I die cut the banner, made some shadows with colored pencils, heat embossed "mother" and "in-law" with the same glittery black. I borrowed the "mother" and a pretty single rose from the Lovely Blooms ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Simply Relative Set - Naki Rager

Again, sentiments are usually a supporting role, but for today's card, they are the star!
I die cut the background from the taupe that is in the patterned paper, mounted on the pistachio cardstock, which is also in the patterned paper (I love how the green peeks out of those teeny holes to add just a bit of color!). Keeping it interesting but subtle not to steal the thunder from the sentiments ;-)
Just look at this stamp set! So many sentiments! You and I both know that this is a must have! It's not just the relatives, but Jen is so smart to add some words like "wonderful", "Special" in her magical font! I love versatile stamp sets :-)

Newton's Nook Designs April Release Day 2

Tuesday, April 11, 2017

Hello there, lovelies!
Welcome back to day 2 of the Newton's Nook Designs April Release!
Today we are revealing this lovely new set " Lovely Blooms" along with the coordinating die set ;-) All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 14th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!

Are you feeling the spring air!?
This set is absolutely stunning, and oh how versatile!
This set immediately reminded of my mother-in-law, who loves hydrangea, and her name is Rose! (So perfect for her, isn't it!?)
Alright, here is my card...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Lovely Blooms Set - Naki Rager

So naturally, I was thinking about my lovely mother-in-law.
She's made cards with me several times and she somewhat enjoyed it. She is just not into any type of craft, but did tell me which colors she likes out of the cardstock I own.

Newton's Nook Designs Lovely Blooms Set - Naki Rager

 So I colored the hydrangea with her favorite purples. It was stamped with antique linen distressed ink on watercolor, colored in with the SU reinkers, then die cut with the coordinating die. The mason jar was heat embossed with Pool Party on vellum, leaves were also heat embossed with Gumball Green on vellum, and all were die cut with the coordinating dies. I also die cut 2 more leaves from the green and white polka dots paper. You can see the polka dots through the vellum, isn't it fun!? I love vellum...{giggle}

Newton's Nook Designs Lovely Blooms - Naki Rager

As many women are, my mother-in-law is a lot of things. She is her parent' precious daughter, has a sister, many friends, then a mother of 2 boys, now her favorite, grandmother to my 4 beautiful kids. So I thought it was just perfect and appropriate to have all these "titles" that represent who she is. I stamped the mason jar and hydrangea with antique linen distressed ink where I wanted them on the panel, then water colored the whole panel with Blushing Bride. While at it, I filled up the jar with some water as well ;-) Then the sentiments were heat embossed with white, the flowers were placed, then I adhered the die cut sentiment, which is coated with clear emboss powder to add some gloss, on the bottom. The right side of the card needed a bit more color so I water colored that single flower and popped it on with a glue dot. Of course, I had to sprinkle some clear sequins ;-) Little pieces of washi tape was placed to add some more colors also.

Newton's Nook Designs April Release Day 1

Monday, April 10, 2017

Hello there my lovelies!
Welcome to the Newton's Nook Designs April Release!
Today is the first day of the reveal, and we are showcasing this gorgeous new set "Beautiful Plumage" along with the coordinating die set!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 14th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!

Oh.My.Goodness...!!!
Jen did it again, her fabulous swirly series!
 Aren't these peacocks just amazingly gorgeous!!?
Here is my card...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Beautiful Plumage Set - Naki Rager

This peacock is just beautiful, I am so very much in love with this stamp set :-)
Such delicate, intricate designs, it needed something bold behind it!

Newton's Nook Designs Beautiful Plumage Set - Naki Rager

This beautiful flower from the Fanciful Florals set was heat embossed with clear on raspberry cardstock. The deep, yummy red picks up the little red dots on the bird as well. The peacock was heat embossed with light gold on watercolor paper, colored in with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor set (Oh boy, did I have fun coloring this beauty with this set! I mixed so many greens and yellows and blues and purples to create new colors!), and die cut with the coordinating die. I also die cut from the green, deep blue, and poppy cardstock, and layered them all to give some dimention and some more colors from the side ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Beautiful Plumage Set - Naki Rager

I decided to make my own striped background with watercolor, and I picked the blue purple from the peacock. It ended up kind of patriotic {giggle} but I think it turned out beautiful ;-) I used 2 of the sentiment from the new set and added a little ampersand die cut. I just LOVE the sentiment "Be Colorful", I like to be different and unique (one of my friends once called me a rebel, I totally am! lol)

Inky Paws Challenge 44

Monday, April 3, 2017

Hello lovelies!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
The new Inky Paws Challenge starts today and I am here with my card!

It's s color challenge!
Look at all the fun, bright colors!
Here is my take...;-)

I'm gonna be honest with you...these bold colors scared me {LOL}
I looked through my NND collection and got a few ideas but this one made me feel comfortable {Hee Hee}. I heat embossed the yummy lemonade image from the Freshly Squeezed set with white on watercolor paper panel once, then one more on another watercolor paper, colored them, then fussy cut my pink lemonade (yum!). The sentiment was also heat embossed with white, and water colored over it so it's more visible. After popping my pink lemonade on, it needed one more thing, and this halved lemon was it! It was stamped with antique linen distressed ink, water colored, and fussy cut. Isn't it just adorable sitting on that little corner!!? Some sequins and washi tape finish this summery card ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope to see your fun and beautiful card linked up to the Inky Paws Challenge Blog

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 401

Sunday, April 2, 2017

Hello my lovelies!
I hope you enjoyed our 400th celebrations last week!
Congratulations to the winners! {woo hoo!}
Now we are back to our regular schedule, and this week's sponsor is Birch Press Design.

And we have this beautiful color combo for you this week!
These cupcakes are so pretty!
Alright, here is my take...;-)

I apologize for this blurry photo... I'm so frustrated with my camera! {ugh!}
But at least I had so much fun making this card! ;-)

I got this adorable Japanese girl in her kimono from Sweet Stamp Shop, I just had to have this set! I stamped the image with antique linen distressed ink on watercolor paper, and colored her with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Set. This was my second try because I'm not very good at coloring with dark colors, so the maroon kind of ruined my first one {LOL}. The set comes with its own sentiment "konnichiwa", but I thought, why not write it in Japanese myself!? So I wrote it with my Stazon marker then heat embossed it.

Those lanterns were stamped with Calypso Coral ink on watercolor paper, fussy cut, popped on with foam tape, and little snippets of gold twine were added. Those puffy cherry blossom stickers were sent from my mom years ago. It's almost cherry blossom season in Japan, and it is my absolute favorite time of the year there! The petals of those delicate flowers fall from their trees is like a pink blizzard, it is simply breathtaking! People go to parks and have picnics under the cherry blossom trees and paper lanterns every spring, especially at night! Anyway, that's what the splatters represent on this card, a cherry blossom blizzard ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
