Inky paws Challenge 41

Monday, February 27, 2017

Hi there lovelies!
Inky Paws Challenge #41 started last week, and you have one more week to link up your beautiful project for a chance to win a gift certificate!
I decided to join Jess on her reminder post today with my card ;-)

Now do you see why I had to play along!?
My favorite colors!!! The photo is just too pretty too!
Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Love & Chocolate Set - Naki Rager

Please don't say I have no imagination for using the macaroon image, which is what's in the photo! {LOL} I have never tried them, but I think they're such a cute looking treat!

Newton's Nook Designs Love & Chocolate Set - Naki Rager

The macaroons from the Love and Chocolate set were stamped with the Antique Linen Distressed Ink, water colored, and glitter was applied on the filling (what exactly is the filling?) I don't know why, but I decided to use a paper doily as a stencil to sponge. The softness of it is just beautiful, isn't it!?

Newton's Nook Designs Love & Chocolate Set - Naki Rager

My craft philosophy is, when I make a mistake, or things don't turn out to be the way I expected, "don't stress, just go with the flow and make something else with it". I'm not sure why I didn't use a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" watercolor paper, which I always do and make a cut later... This panel was awfully small, but I loved how sponging turned out! So I tried many different designs, different patterned paper, etc... This is what I got! What do you think? I actually like it a lot, it's so very different ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 396

Sunday, February 26, 2017

Hi there lovelies!
It is time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is my absolute favorite, Newton's Nook Designs!
A very lucky random winner will receive a $25 gift certificate, woo hoo!

Hee hee :-D
How stinkin' cute are these cupcakes!!? not to mention it's perfect!
Here is my take...;-D

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of London - Naki Rager

So the theme is "cats" and NND is sponsoring, that pretty much gave us the option to make whatever we want, and this is what I came up with ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of London - Naki Rager

Miss Mary Poppins kitty was waiting ever so patiently to be played with forever since I bought the Newton Dreams of London set! She was heat embossed with Smoky Slate on watercolor paper and colored with the Zig Clean Real Brush set, then die cut with the coordinating die.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of London - Naki Rager

I went to London with bestie 20 years ago (what!? 20 years!!?), I didn't know about Doctor Who back then, but now when I hear London, that's the first thing that comes to my mind! {LOL} So naturally I had to have a Tardis on my London card! I only inked up the outside line with a marker, then colored in to make it look like the Tardis, I am loving it!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of London - Naki Rager

Miss Poppins is floating down from the sky onto a London street ;-)
Umm, I just realized as I am typing this, I forgot to color her buttons! {LOL} Well, she is still so darn cute though, isn't she ;-) This card was absolute fun to make!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Make sure you head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog to check out the DT members' adorable kitty cards! We also have fabulous projects by the NND DT team members ;-)

Freshly Made Sketches 275 (again!)

Saturday, February 18, 2017

Hi there, Happy Saturday!
Yes! I made time (aka:skipped some house work...lol) to make another card for Freshly Made Sketches!

I just love this sketch...:-)

58fc33a4b2196b3d687ab65298a29cb9

I am also playing along with the Pin-Sights Challenge over at Ellen Hutson!
I know! I'm really enjoying playing these challenges again!

Funny, I had already had this design in my head when I saw the inspiration board!
And you all know that aqua is my favorite, and go-to color!
So this was not only fun, but pretty quick to make ;-)

I heat embossed the table set image with gold tinsel emboss powder (I know! I am addicted to this color!) on watercolor paper, colored the plate with Pool Party and silverware with Yellow Gold from the Starry Watercolor. The sentiment and a little branch were also heat embossed with gold tinsel, then I filled those little circles with Versamark marker then heat embossed with Pool Party.

I thought I grabbed Pool Party seam binding but it doesn't look the same as the other Pool Party on the card, does it? I didn't notice it until I uploaded my photos...{LOL} I wanted to keep the front panel all clean and white, but I had to add this beautiful gold rose washi tape on one side, and Pool Party striped washi tape on the other! And instead of my usual sequins, I used a few gold glitter gumdrops. My personal craft goal this year is to use more embellishments that are sadly sitting in a box!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Freshly Made Sketches 275

Friday, February 17, 2017

Hi there lovelies!
I hope you enjoyed the NND reveal this week!
The NND DT really inspires me, don't they!?
Well, I saw Jen Timko's photo for Freshly Made Sketches this week and LOVED it, I had to play along! I know I don't play challenges like I used to, especially the past few months have been just crazy busy at my house, I barely had time for my DT duties! So this was really fun!

I just LOVE this sketch!
Here it is...;-)

Aren't these little reptile friends just so darn cute!!?
I started with stamping the gator's solid image with Gumball Green ink on watercolor paper, and blended the color with some yellow. Then I heat embossed the outline of the gator in black. I did the same thing with the frog, except the stamp set didn't come with the solid image for his legs for I water colored them myself with Pool Party. Of course I had to give them blushed cheek ;-)

The sentiment was heat embossed in Pool Party on Basic Black cardstock, trimmed it, and popped on with foam tape between the green cuties. I sewed down a grass border, sprinkled some blue, green, and white sequins, done!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
I am planning on making another card with this sketch (yes, I love it that much! It totally gave me more than one design ideas!), but we shall see...;-)

Hello there lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs February Release!

All the new sets we have introduced this week will be available for purchase tomorrow Friday the 17th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Are you ready to scream!!?

I know!!!!!
Newton is just one cute kitty no matter what he does, or where he goes, but this is one of the cutest sets EVER!
Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Loves Cake Set - Naki Rager

Who's ready to party with Newton!!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Loves Cake Set - Naki Rager

Oh my goodness...
Just like the leprechaun Newton from Tuesday, this kitty is so, so, so cute, I don't know how many times I said "he's so cute!" while making this fun, sparkly card!
I heat embossed him with tan emboss powder, water colored, then die cut with the coordinating die. I kind of colored him like he is coffee with cream...{hee hee}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Loves Cake Set - Naki Rager

"Did someone say cake?" was heat embossed with pink inside the speech bubble, and layered on another speech bubble in gold, then popped up with foam tape. Aren't those sparkly confetti just so fun and pretty!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Loves Cake Set - Naki Rager

Here is another card with a birthday kitty!
Have you noticed that I like pink frosting!? Actually, I don't like frosting at all, I love whipped cream on my cake! I'm sure all you need is some food coloring to make pretty pink whipped cream, right!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Loves Cake Set - Naki Rager

I love candle stamps...I don't know why...I just do...{LOL}
This cutie was stamped with the Antique Linen Distressed ink, water colored, then fussy cut instead of using the die. I colored with my Starry Watercolor all around the image for the soft glow that candles give. I gave him a party hat, and he is ready to make his birthday wish ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Loves Cake Set - Naki Rager

I also gave him many more candles around him to celebrate his birthday! They were heat embossed in white, water colored, and more glow was added with the Starry Watercolors. The sentiment, which font is just so fun and beautiful!, was also heat embossed. Of course some clear sequins were sprinkled ;-) I just LOVE how this card turned out!

These are just amazing, aren't they!!?

Newton's Nook Designs Beautiful Spring Set - Naki Rager

I just had to heat emboss these gorgeous eggs with gold tinsel emboss powder...! I just couldn't resist!!! {giggle} I thought coloring them ombre with pretty spring colors was the perfect way to accentuate those intricate designs!

Newton's Nook Designs Beautiful Spring Set - Naki Rager

Isn't the gold so sparkly and pretty!!? The light colors really make it pop too!
The sentiment is so cute, "egg-cited" {chuckle}

Newton's Nook Designs Beautiful Spring Set - Naki Rager

This set even comes with these pretty tulips!
I heat embossed the flower twice with blue and peach, then water colored with similar colors to them. The stem and leaves were heat embossed with clear emboss powder.

All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 17th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
We are revealing this super adorable stamp set "Newton's Pot of Gold" along with the "Land Borders Purr-fect Die set"!

Irish or not Irish, you have to LOVE this Newton with a pot of gold!
And HELLO! Who doesn't need some border dies!!? I do all the time!
Alright, are you ready to see what I made!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Pot of Gold Set - Naki Rager

Well, where do you find a pot of gold? 🌈
Can you guess how much fun I had while making this card!!?
I don't even know how many times I said, so cute! 😍

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Pot of Gold Set - Naki Rager

This cutest leprechaun 🍀 was heat embossed with gold tinsel emboss powder twice and water colored. Both images were fussy cut, except one of them was only the pot. I couldn't help myself but to color this kitty orange...so predictable, huh...LOL I used this patterned paper for some grass with the new Land Border Die, isn't it just perfect!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Pot of Gold Set - Naki Rager

I just had to make a shaker card with lots of gold confetti!
Gold and silver heart confetti were also added just because...;-)
I used the same gold tinsel emboss powder for the Lucky on black cardstock, which was fussy cut. "to have you" was heat embossed in white, I thought if this was also gold, that might be a bit too much...lol

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Pot of Gold Set - Naki Rager

I had to make another card with this lovely set ;-)
Here I have is a super CAS design with the clover image from the set.
The Land Border Die set was also used, both grass border and hill border, which is tucked under the front panel.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Pot of Gold Set - Naki Rager

I heat embossed the clover several times in green, sewed the grass border right below them, and added a 4 leaf clover made from the little hearts that comes in the Darling Hearts Purr-fect Die set. I colored the pointy parts of the hearts with dark green marker. "good luck" was heat embossed in the same green on vellum. Of course I had to sprinkle some sequins, I chose gold star for more good luck ;-)

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 394

Sunday, February 12, 2017

Hello there lovelies!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is awesome STAMPlorations!

We have this super fun color combo for you this week!
Here is my take...;-)

Confession...Black and red isn't my favorite color combo...
BUT! I just LOVE how this card turned out!!!

I used the Kathryn's Big Wishes stamp and die sets.
I stamped this cute girl with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers. Isn't she just so darn cute in her little red dress and black and white striped leggings!? I thought black hair was the perfect color for her ;-)

I stamped this big balloon with poppy ink then colored in with the same red marker as the girl's dress. I cut slits to securely place bow made with baker's twine. I punched out these tiny stars from white glitter paper and adhered them on the balloon to give some texture and sparkle.

I heat embossed all the sentiments that came with the stamp set in white on black cardstock, then chopped them up. The WISH was also heat embossed then fussy cut. I did like the way I had all these words but it needed something else, so I stamped a couple of images from the Mixed Media Elements Stamp Set in black. Of course I had to add some sequins as usual ;-)

I am also linking this up to the STAMPlorations Anything Goes Challenge!
This is my first time playing along with their challenge, but they have many other fun challenges and I will have to play more!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Make sure to head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog, the DT members made fabulous cards! We also have awesome cards by the STAMPlorations DT members that I'm sure you will enjoy!
