You're Jaw-some!

Monday, May 30, 2016

Hello there, Happy Memorial Day!
I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog one more time!
Guesting over at their blog was such an awesome, fun experience, thank you Jen so very much for inviting me! You're jaw-some!!!

I wanted to play with my "jaw-some" shark set ;-)

I stamped one of the sharks with Smoky Slate, then water colored him Smoky Slate, Lost Lagoon, and Crisp Cantaloupe. Then water colored the water with Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, and Lost Lagoon.

This sentiment is why I wanted to play with this set, it's just so cute!!!
I heat embossed it with Smoky Slate.

I sewed down those snippets of ribbons to make my ocean.
One silver arrow was added just because it's such an awesome die and I just wanted to use it*lol* Of course I had to add a few sequins too;-)

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 362

Sunday, May 29, 2016

Hi there, Happy Sunday!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is A Random Fan :-)
One lucky winner will be picked randomly and the prize this week is 3 digi images from A Random Fan! So make sure you play along and link up your beautiful creation!
Okay, here is this week's inspirational photo ;-)

Another beautiful color combo for you!
Here is my take...;-)

I think this is such a sweet color combo, and I love how my card turned out!

The sponsor generously provided us this super adorable digi image Sweet Sunshine, thank you!
I printed the image on watercolor paper then water colored with my Zig Clean Brushes and SU! reinkers, then she was fussy cut and mounted on the background that I stamped the mini hexagons with distressed ink on.

I used the same yellows as the flower petals, and the same purple as the girl's hair to color a scrap watercolor paper then die cut the sentiment. It needed some dimension so I die cut two more from Soft Suede. I just love how the colors turned out!

I added Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss washi tape, love it!
I am also loving her purple hair, what do you think!?
This was such a fun card to make, especially coloring her and the sentiment ;-)

My notes...

Stamp: Sweet Sunshine (A Random Fan), Mini Hexagon Background (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Whisper White, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Gumball Green, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette Stampin' Reinkers (SU!), Lemon Yellow, Yellow, Pale Pink, Flesh Color, Mid Brown, Dark Oatmeal Zig Clean Brushes (Kuretake), Antique Linen, Vintage Photo Distressed Ink (Tim Holtz)
Accessory: Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey Washi Tape (SU!)

Inky Paws Challenge 32

Friday, May 27, 2016

Hi there, Happy Friday!
I am still guesting over at Newton's Nook Designs and today, I am participating in their challenge Inky Paws Challenge!

Isn't this a fun theme!?
Here is my card ;-)

So of course I thought of their new die set Points & Plumes.
I actually made a totally different card using the arrow dies, let's just say it looked better in my head...*LOL*

I wanted to use their other new die set Splendid Stags also, and here it is;-) Just gorgeous, right!!? I wanted to borrow a pair of sunglasses from Newton but they were too big for this handsome guy. Then I saw this party hat in the In Slow Motion set and it was a perfect size! I heat embossed it with gold on Basic Black cardstock, fussy cut it, then some glitter was applied with my trusty glitter pen! I die cut three more stags from the Basic Black cardstock to give some dimension. Those beautiful arrows were die cut from the Black Glimmer Paper. I heat embossed one of the wreaths from the Happy Little Thoughts set to frame the beautiful stag.

Here's something I don't normally do...I decorated the inside!
I had these arrows die cut for another card (which just didn't come together right no matter what...) so I just added my B&W stripes washi tape to repeat what is on the front of the card, then mounted my beautiful arrows.

I sewed three rows of fringes, added some gold sequins and one big black sequin, done!

I am not sure what occasion this card is for, but some kind of celebration since my stag is wearing a party hat, right? *giggle*

My notes...

Stamp: Happy Little Thoughts, In Slow Motion (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Gold Foil Sheet, Black Glimmer Paper, Stack with Love DSP Stack (SU!), Yellow and Gold Vellum (Studio Calico), Designer Vellum Patterned Paper Collection (Papertrey Ink)

Sketch For You To Try Challenge

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Hi there!
Today I am playing along with the Sketch For You To Try Challenge over at Reverse Confetti!

36_May2016

Such a fun sketch, isn't it!?
Here is my take...

This sketch made me think of a well worn leather belt...weird! *LOL*
And that is exactly the look I went for!

So I made my "belt" with this dark brown core'dinations Kraft cardstock. All I needed to do was take off some of the dark brown with a sand paper. I die cut a small piece of blue vellum with the fringe die, rolled it up and there I have a tassel ;-) I fed the hemp cord in this brass button and popped it on the tassel!

I flipped over the core'dinations cardstock and die cut it with the chevron panel, matted that onto this orange patterned paper and trimmed off the corners with scissors. I picked this scrap cardstock for this lovely sentiment. I love blue and orange together!

For the background, I chose this old ledger looking paper from the This and That:Epic Day DSP pack. I love the vintage look of this paper, plus it had orange lines and some blue ;-)  I used the distress tool and a sand paper to make the edges look all torn and old. My pants were covered with fuzzy pieces when I was done! *LOL*

My notes...

Paper: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Summer Smooches DSP, This and That: Epic Day DSP (SU!), Dark Brown Core'dinations Kraft-Core Nostalgic Collection Cardstock (Tim Holtz), Blue Vellum (Studio Calico)
Accessory: Brass Button (SU!), Hemp Cord (Amazon.com)
Tool: Fancy Words and Chevron Pretty Panels Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Lulu Fringe Cutaway (Winnie and Walter), Distress Tool (SU!), Sand Paper (Tim Holtz)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Sending Hugs

Monday, May 23, 2016

Hello lovelies!
Hope you all had a fun weekend!
Today I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog!
Did you all enjoy their May Release last week? I had a blast!
All the new stamp sets and dies are available for purchase now!
This is also my 300th post, man, I love stamping...:-)

I could use any of my NND stamps for this post, and I chose the Newton Unwind set! I obviously love all of my NND stamps very much, but don't always get to play with them :-( So this was really fun! Totally free style!

I first heat embossed this very adorable image on my Gumball Green cardstock with Gumball Green Emboss Powder. Even though I do own the matching die set, I fussy cut this one because I wanted to be right on the lines. The same image was heat embossed with Smoky Slate on watercolor paper, water colored with Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride, fussy cut and matted onto the other image. Isn't he just adorable!!?

So here is the reason I heat embossed the image with Gumball green on the same color, I wanted to attach this Gumball Green Sweater Trim to the ball of yarn!
I popped my playful kitty with dimensions, added some washi tapes on my base, created several layers of patterned papers and mounted them all. Done!

My notes...

Stamp: Newton Unwinds (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Gumball Green, Neutrals DSP Stack (SU!), Crate Paper Craft market Patterned Paper (American Craft), Vellum Pattern Paper Collection (Papertrey Ink), Watercolor Paper
Ink: Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride (SU!), Versamark
Accessory: Gumball Green Sweater Trim, Sweet Lil' Things and This and That Washi Tape (SU!), Bird Washi Tape (MT)
Tool: Heat Tool, Smoky Slate and Gumball Green Stampin' Emboss Powder (SU!), Elle-ments Wonky Stitches Die (Avery Elle)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 361

Sunday, May 22, 2016

Hello there!
It is another time for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Lawn Fawn :-)

Isn't this the most fun theme ever!?
Here is my take ;-)

Lawn Fawn has such cute stamp sets with "punny" sentiments!

I LOVE cacti, but I have black thumb and have killed many of them...*sniffle*
So I left my paper cacti in desert instead of pots *LOL*
I heat embossed these beauties with Gumball Green, flowers with Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry, then planted them in sand that was die cut with the Stitched Hills Border Lawn Cut.

I stamped the sentiment then die cut it with one of the Word Bubble dies.
I added a little Calypso Coral flower and Gumball Green leaves for some more colors, and just because it's cute ;-)

A couple of clouds were popped on in the blue sky, done!

My notes...

Stamp: Stuck on You (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: Soft Sky, Whisper White (SU!), Craft Core'dinations Cardstock
Ink: Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black
Tool: Heat Tool, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, and Crushed Curry Stampin' Emboss Powder, Word Bubbles Framelits Die (SU!), Stuck on You, Spring Shower, and Stitched Hill Border Lawn Cuts (Lawn Fawn)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs May Release - A Cozy Day In

Thursday, May 19, 2016

Hello lovelies!
Welcome to the final day of the Newton's Nook Designs May Release!
Are you ready for some more cuteness!?

If this image doesn't melt your heart, I don't know what else to offer you...*LOL*
Here is my sweet and cozy card ;-)

Again, if you love cats and books, how could you resist this sweet image!?
That is totally me before I had the kids...just curling up with my kitties ;-)

I wanted it to be soft so I heat embossed with Smoky Slate instead of black ink.
I'll be honest, it was so much fun coloring but picking colors was a bit challenging because think about it, you pick colors for your furniture then accessorize with more colors. And you do the same thing with your outfit, right? You don't usually try to coordinate your furniture and outfit, plus your kitties! LOL My first try was a disaster! I had too many colors and they didn't really coordinate nicely...

This lovely sentiment was heat embossed with Smoky Slate on So Saffron, both colors were pulled from the image. I also added a snippet of Blackberry Bliss ribbon, which color was also used on the image. Repeating the same colors really help pull the whole card come together.

I added some Smoky Slate washi tape on my So Saffron base. Again, repeat of the same color pallet. Since my base doesn't show through the tape much, I added some yellow sequins along with some white ones. A little sparkle always helps complete a card ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs May Release - Newton's Book Club

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Hi there!
Welcome to day three of the Newton's Nook Designs May Release!
I need to warn you, this new stamp set Newton's Book Club is so cute, you might pass out!

If you love cats and books, you must get this set!
I used to read a lot when I was growing up, but since I came to the US, I've only read a few books because I read English SO SLOW! It's sad, but what can I do, language is not my strength!
Anyway, here is my card...;-)

Grab a good book and a good cup of coffee, and just relax and enjoy yourself!

This cutie with glasses is my favorite!
This particular image reminds of the movie Never Ending Story for some reason... That movie was my absolute favorite when I was a kid, I don't know how many times I watched it!
I water colored the kitty with Smoky Slate very lightly, then added some stripes. His glasses were colored with Bermuda Bay very very lightly.

"Our story is my favorite"
How sweet is that!?
I heat embossed the sentiment with Smoky Slate, water colored with Crisp Cantaloupe then die cut it with the biggest heart from the Darling Hearts Die Set.

I thought it was kind of predictable to use this book page paper, but I couldn't help myself! *hee hee*
My kitty's so cute with his cup of coffee and a big heart, this card really didn't need any embellishments! I think this one is going to my husband at work, it's been awhile since the last time I sent him a card ;-)
