Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 25

Saturday, April 27, 2013

Hello friends! Welcome to another Double Dare Challenge!

Make a Mother's Day Card

Use This and That Washi Tape

Surprisingly, this challenge was pretty difficult for me...
Here is what I made...

Who is excited about Stampin' Up! carrying washi tape!? I AM! :-)

I was pretty psyched about using the washi tape and knew I wanted to make a bunting, but the rest did not come together easily for me...

Have you tried the new Typeset Photopolymer set yet? I am in LOVE! You can see exactly where you stamp, they cling to clear blocks so very good, and not to mention the clean font!

I love this little flower! I wish I could buy a whole bunch of them!
I layered the Basic Gray 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and the Pool Party Ribbon

When I thought I was done making this card, it needed something on top and didn't know what to add, but when I need "something", either Rhinestones or Pearls would do the job!

My notes...
Stamp set: Typeset Photopolymer, Make a Monster (Retiring)
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Sent with Love DSP
Ink: Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Versamark
Accessory: This and That Washi Tape, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, More Amore set, White Baker's Twine, Basic Gray 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Pool Party Ribbon
Tool: Heart Collection Framelits Die, Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Small Heart, Itty Bitty Shapes and Owl Builder Punches, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's check out what Nina made;-)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 24

Saturday, April 20, 2013

Hello, hello!
Look what's back!?
My friend Nina and I both needed a break for a few weeks, but that a few weeks turned into longer than we planned... but we have our new and fresh picks for the challenge and can't wait to share with you all again! :-)

Use the retiring colors

Use the Sent with Love stamp set

Here is what I came up with...

Can I just say, I LOVE this stamp set! It's so clean, modern, and just so darn cute!
This is actually an envelope instead of a card because all these stamps are postage related, and I thought it might be fun this way:-)

The back of the envelope got some attention as well:-)
I just wanted to use as many images from this set as I could...he he;-)

I finally bought the Postage Stamp punch when I ordered this stamp set, it seemed necessary... and I am so glad I did!

My choice of the retiring colors are:Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, and Riding Hood Red. I am going to miss these blues so very much! Look how beautiful they look together!! And it's sad, but now that Riding Hood Red is retiring and I used it for this challenge with my blues, I love it!

This was a fun challenge:-)
Next week is going to be pretty exciting, too!

My notes...
Stamp set: Sent with Love (Available through Apr. 30th!)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Riding Red Hood Cardstock, Crumb Cake Envelope
Ink: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red, Versamark
Accessory: Linen Thread, Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Tool: 1" Square, Postage Stamp, 1" Circle, Small Heart, Owl Builder Punches, Chevron, Adoring Accents, Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's head over to Nina's blog and see what she's come up with!

Freshly Made Sketches

Thursday, April 11, 2013

Hi there!
I needed a thank you card, and wanted to try out the Sunflower stamp that I FINALLY bought! And this simple sketch from Freshly Made Sketches was just perfect for it:-)

This card really took no time at all to make:-) It helps when you use a big and bold stamp as the focal point, and a fabulous sketch like this one to showcase that image:-)

I heat embossed this beautiful sunflower image with the Early Espresso emboss powder to give an earthy feel, then sponged the petals with Summer Starfruit, and the seeds with Crumb Cake. I purposely sponged outside the image.

To keep the earthy feel, I added the Natural Trim Ribbon, leaving the ends frayed. I love this ribbon, it's so organic!

My notes...
Stamp set: Sunflower, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit
Ink: Versamark
Accessory: 7/16" Natural Trim Ribbon, Pearl Basic Jewels
Tool: Early Espresso Emboss Powder, Heat tool, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
